We asked Roman Blažek, a manufacturer of children's sports equipment, about the basic steps in choosing snowboard equipment.
How to choose the right children's snowboard and its correct length?
There is a simple basic rule. The length of the board should be between the mouth and the nose. The board should be soft in bending, wide enough with low weight. Especially for small riders, flat boards are suitable.
What are the most common mistakes when choosing and what to avoid?
I would summarize everything in a few points:
- Choosing a board that is too short.
- Choosing a hard board.
- A small rider will push the board and find it hard to control.
How important is the choice of bindings and boots?
Definitely very important. First of all, everything should fit together and work together. Boots, bindings and the snowboard itself. As far as the boots are concerned, it's all about the ergonomics of the child's foot, which the boots should reflect and provide sufficient thermal comfort. Last but not least, they should also be easy to slip on, so that the child can manage everything by himself. With bindings, it is important that the size fits both the snowboard itself and the boot, which is "attached" to the board thanks to the binding. If we are talking about attachment, I would also point out a sufficiently large and easy-to-use pump, which ensures optimal yet sufficient mastery of the attachment.
Do you deliver to buy snowboard sets?
Yes, besides the optimal price/performance ratio, it's about the already mentioned compatibility. The parent doesn't have to complicate whether the boots and bindings fit. If you buy a set, there is a guarantee of a suitable pairing of the products. And you also save time and money.
